Italy Part 2: Blending In

I'm really really really trying hard not to title this post "...As the Romans do," so I'm going with another Italian classic: "Oh, you blend" (Mona Lisa Vito).

Italy Trip Part 1

Earlier this summer, we were fortunate to be able to go to Rome and Venice, thanks to a very kind family member. I had been to Italy before, but of course it is insanely fantastic every time, and it was especially meaningful to be able to go with my husband, who has not had many of what we civilian-types call "vacations."

We of course made sure to visit the major sites. The greatest hits, if you will.

Snow Day

Hey Chief!

My husband just made the big switch to being a Special Forces Warrant Officer, so we went down to good old Fort Bragg for his graduation.

Yum too

Two things. 1) I find food photography very challenging, and when done poorly it is truly gross.

Whatever the Weather

In planning our anniversary weekend, we googled "best small towns in Virginia," and picked whichever had the best option in the nice hotel/cheap hotel matrix. The evening we arrived was beautiful.

DC Spring Part 3: The Waterfront

As you can tell, this was a really long day. (Reminder: we started here, and then we went here.) The perfect place to end our Day of Fun was at the Georgetown Waterfront, which you may remember from here or from real life.

DC Spring Part 2: Golfing and gunning and Jenga (Oh My)

When we last left off, we'd just spent the morning at Eastern Market.
Next stop: H Street Country Club for golf and games.

Take Me Out

…But let's rewind, because we only ended up going in at the tail end of the game.

When The Husband's Away

When my husband is away, I try to fill my calendar with a ton of things.  If I pause, I will end up on the couch crying to Real Housewives re-runs, and it's not pretty.

The Night Before Christmas

We spent the night before Christmas with Husband's sister and her wonderful family.
