So we were at the DC Pride Parade.
Havin a ball, making friends.
When we spotted an American flag for sale. These are randomly really hard to find just walking around on your regular "pattern of life," as they say. By which I mean they do not sell little flags at our house, the deli between our house and the office, or at the sandwich place.
So we jumped at the opportunity.
It was perfect. It is perfect.
The whole day was perfect, actually.
The sun was shining, and everyone was loving life.
On the way home, we even made some new best friends.
But the sun was setting, so it was time to head home.
Plus, the sushi I insisted on carrying (#thisiswhatafeministlookslike) was getting cold, aka warm.
So we put the flag in its new home outside our new home.
And it was really, really great.
